Appointment Policies

Cancellations & No Shows
If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, you must cancel or reschedule at least 12 hours before the scheduled appointment,  using the Book It link at Not cancelling at least 12 hours before your appointment OR failure to show up for your appointment will count as a “late cancellation” or “no show.”  After 2 “No Shows”, you will not be allowed to make appointments for the rest of the quarter. 

Late Arrival and No Show Policy
In order for us to help as many students as possible, if you are more than 10 minutes late for a 50-min. appt. or more than 5 minutes late for a 25-min. appt., we will give your appointment to a student who has been waiting for a drop-in session. If you show up after the 10 minutes, you will have to wait for an available drop-in and will be seen in the order you arrived.

Number of Appointments Per Week
Students are limited to 2 SCHEDULED appointments per week, but you may walk in as often as you like.

Group Appointments (2-5 people)
If you want to make a group appointment, one of you can schedule the appointment by going to Book It at, but please let us know that it is a group appointment by text at (310) 893-6649 or send an email to Also, if you scheduled a Zoom appt., it is the responsibility of the person who scheduled the appointment to share the Zoom link with their group members.

Technical Issues/Inability to Connect
If you are unable to connect to the consultant during your scheduled appointment, or if you are experiencing technical difficulties, please text the UWC admin. staff at (310) 893-6649 OR send an email to as soon as possible. Someone will guide you through the process as best they can. Please be specific about the issue you are experiencing, so that we can assist. We cannot guarantee that we can help resolve technical issues with your computer.
